I've had 3 experiences w/ this shop and I was nothing short of impressed with them. I'm the kind of person who prefers to do my own work. But not everything can be done in a driveway. So when I don't have the time or tools to fix something I take it to the North Westerville shop. The first time I took my wife's civic there was to get an alignment after I replaced some suspension parts. She needed her car back the next day and they managed to work it into the schedule.

The second trip I made to see the guys was when I ran into an issue installing a lift kit on my truck. The stud on the top plate of my strut broke loose and I couldn't get the nuts off. Knowing I needed a spring compressor to completely resolve the issue I called the shop and they had my truck back on the road the next day.

Once the lift kit was installed I had several discount tire shops tell me they wouldn't align my truck because of the very basic lift I had on it. I spoke with Doug at the North Westerville store and ordered a set of 33" Goodyear Duratracs. They were installed and aligned within a day and my truck rides perfectly.

"I took my family on a road trip to the West Coast. 16 days, 17 states and almost 6,000 miles. About 1,000 miles were up and down 7-15% grades, either in 3rd gear to get up or in 2nd gear engine braking down until you could smell the brakes. “For the most part always have what you need, I work on a lot of different things, if I need something oddball they are not above telling who might have it if they don't. The Westerville Automotive staff is easily above par for your auto parts store these days, and they still have a few guys who can say well the book doesn't say it and still go grab you the right thing, people forget how valuable that is. I have asked them plenty of PITA questions without any grief. Their stock is a little different than the NAPAs' that I grew up with in southern Ohio, more automotive, and less industrial and Semi parts, but its not their market, and they will get it.

I first encountered staff at the old Maple Canyon Gulf station (now defunct) on the NE side. At a time that I was destitute, they got my work clunker up and running with a little labor at around $40 when a neighboring business wanted more than nine hundred of my hard-earned dollars to instead install new parts. I've used this shop for around two decades to follow because I have found them to be consistently forthcoming and honest. Their work may cost a little more than the jiffy-service place, but if Westerville Automotive at 5591 Westerville Road or downtown does it, I am confident that the work is needed and that they will stand behind it. Needed some work on my car and found a coupon in the mail for Westerville Automotive so I decided to give them a try based upon what I found online about them. Called and made an appointment and asked if I could use the coupon. Later on I had to reschedule the appointment and they were gracious enough to do so without any issue.

The day my car was to be worked on we dropped it off when they opened at 8am. We got there about 10 minutes early and the gentleman opened up without incident. I detailed everything that needed done on my car, oil change, tire rotation, 4-wheel alignment and possibly new wiper blades. I also asked them about possibly needing a new tire or two and to check the tires. The man at the counter was friendly and took down all of my information and said he would call me when it was ready.

"If I could give this place more stars, I would. My family has been going here for over a decade because they're not just good at what they do, but so honest. Seriously, this place single-handedly reverses the stereotype of mechanics being dishonest. There have been many times where they've been fixing one thing, discovered another little problem, and fixed it for us free of charge. "It has always been difficult to find honest garages. Many will tell you there's something wrong with your car just to get you to spend a lot of money. Westerville Automotive is not like that at all. Usually I don't keep cars very long so they are under warranty, but the three or so times my husband and I have brought our cars here for problems, they have always been reasonably priced and honest. I thought my CV joints were bad. They checked them out and said my heat shields were making the noise. They tightened them up. They could have lied and said my joints were bad and charged me several hundred to replace them, but they didn't. This is the second time I've brought a car in and there wasn't anything major wrong.
